Microsoft revealed Justin Roiland’s Squanch Games title, High on Life, is the biggest Xbox Game Pass launch of 2022.
Not only is this an impressive feat for the quirky FPS, High on Life also has the honor of being the largest single-player game launch in Xbox Game Pass’ history, and the third largest overall. According to Microsoft, these numbers are based off hours played for the first five days following release.
Mike Fridley, Squanch Games COO and studio director, offered the following comment about the news.
This was our first time launching a game with Game Pass and we’ve been blown away by the response from the players who have made us the most popular game on Game Pass right now. When Squanch Games was first created, it was to make the games we wanted to play – and Game Pass is helping us reach the players that want to play those games too.

Although many of Squanch’s previous titles were firmly rooted in VR, High On Life was built from the ground up for traditional flatscreen devices.- Is this Rick and Morty / related to Rick and Morty?
Because Justin Roiland is also the co-creator of Rick and Morty, our games naturally share a similar style / universe, but they are not officially related.- What type of game is this? Single player? Multiplayer?
