One of the main selling points of The Last Oricru is online co-op. However, before you can play with a buddy, you need to do some things to unlock it. Before you go crazy trying to figure out what needs to be done or how much time is required to unlock it, we wanted to make it simple by explaining what needs to be done.

How to Play co-op in The Last Oricru

Unlock Condition

To unlock co-op you need to complete the prologue/training stage. This takes roughly 30 to 50 minutes and is a small introduction to the world.

After finishing the area, you’ll awake in a dungeon and there will be a glowing light to the side. When you go to investigate, you’ll fine a machine that offers various upgrades and the ability to play co-op. Select that and either make a room or join your friends.

Basic Information About co-op

For anyone looking to do co-op, it’s an interesting experience. All items are shared, though experience and other resources are individually based. The second character is also limited on what they can do, so certain interactions and scenes they’re not allowed to trigger or fully experience. Progress is also lost for player two, so if you play with someone else, don’t be shocked if you just back to your previous point.

How to Quickly Complete the Tutorial

Unlike a lot of games, The Last Oricru does not seem to use waypoints. Instead, directions are told to you and you either need to figure it out from the explanation or read the objectives to know where to go or what to do. This can be annoying in the starting area, since this will stop you from experiencing the fun parts of The Last Oricru.

All you need to do is speak to Patriarch Maltis and then go find Tobias.

If you keep moving forward, you’ll eventually find an open area and he will be sitting in the middle area pictured above. He will tell you to go to the Armory and get better equipment.

The Armory is located to the left of where Tobias is. Just head down the hallway, turn right and you should see that hole in the wall. From there, enter the door and you’ll get the training sword and shield. Return to Tobias to trigger two quick fights.

After beating the enemies, return to the Armory, get another set of weapons and then return back to Tobias to fight Marco. This is a pretty easy fight that shouldn’t take long.

Once that is completed, you should be told to return to Patriarch Maltis. He will speak briefly before the Queen arrives. You’ll be told to get a spear, it’s located behind where Tobias was sitting and told to make it to the Armory without being detected.

First and foremost, getting caught just decreases your reputation with the Queen. If you don’t want to deal with it, just get caught and it will immediately trigger the cutscene and take you to the dungeon. If not, it’s actually pretty easy to do. The only thing to keep in mind is a single guard walking down the hallway where the Armory is. He is easy to miss, so make sure it’s safe before going there.
