Lords of the Fallen 2 is recently confirmed to not arrive in it’s earlier fall 2026 release window and instead, the soulslike has been pushed to next year, CI Games CEO confirmed in X/Twitter. This change in schedule will help the game get the complete attention it deserves as this year is loaded with heavyweight releases like Control Resonant, Silent Hill: Townfall, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Marvel’s Wolverine and of course, the most awaited videogame of all time that is Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6 which is going to obscure everything else this fall.
“As development progresses, we have worked closely with the Gameplay Feedback Team, a dedicated group of seasoned Souls-like veterans within our Launch Creative Team,” he said. “Their valuable ongoing input, combined with the team’s vision, has identified meaningful opportunities to further refine and strengthen the overall experience. These enhancements will benefit from additional integration, iteration, and polishing time, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch.”
In fact, it’s quite impossible to predict how things will turn out even a few months from now as more promotional materials start to come out for GTA 6 which can completely sway attentions from all other titles this year, irrespective of their hypes. Frankly, the world hasn’t seen a launch as colossal and potentially seismic as Rockstar’s open world behemoth in a long while, and in that light, the devs have definitely made the right decision to move Lords of the Fallen 2 from the slate of titles to be released this year as it’ll provide more breathing room for the game.
“This updated release window also strategically positions Lords of the Fallen 2 outside of a highly competitive holiday period, ensuring the game receives the dedicated attention it deserves,” Tyminski continued. “The team remains fully energized by the strong response to our recent reveals and is deeply focused on delivering a standout dark fantasy action RPG and a worthy successor to the Lords of the Fallen franchise. We are grateful for the continued passion, feedback, and support from our community, and we look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months.”
Lords of the Fallen 2 is not the only game that will skip this year’s release, there’s also Microsoft’s heavyweight open world RPG Fable which is now slated to come out next year as well.
