Recruiting Reid is one of the most time-consuming tasks in Eiyuden Chronicle, as it involves numerous steps, primarily traveling from one town to the next and winning many Begioma battles. Begioma battles are among the many mini-games in Eiyuden Chronicle where you engage other NPCs using tops acquired either from monster drops or by defeating opponents. Reid introduces the Begiomas when you first encounter him, and to recruit him, you must navigate through a series of battles across Allraan.
Requirements:
Obtaining Reid requires engaging in numerous Begioma battles and traveling extensively across Allraan. Players can kick off the quest by finding him on the western side of Eltisweiss, where Nowa encounters him battling with a Begioma top.
To ensure Reid appears in Eltisweiss, players must first complete the main quest in Hishahn.
Note: It’s highly recommended that you undertake this quest near the end of the game, as you’ll have access to nearly all towns available for Carrie to teleport you to. Additionally, the last bonus dungeon, Valishnu, will drop three of the most powerful tops in the game.
How to recruit Reid
Upon initiating the quest in Eltisweiss, your first step is to obtain your top from Dr. Corque. Head to the vacant house located in the eastern part of Eltisweiss.
Dr. Corque will then prompt you to select your starter top. Choose whichever top suits your preference and prepare to battle Reid.
Now that you’ve started the initial quest to trigger the series of “story battles” required to recruit Reid, you must familiarize yourself with the locations of these battles in which Nowa can participate. Remember that possessing a top high quality is crucial for these Begioma story battles, as the difficulty escalates with each trainer you face.
FIRST PHASE – STORY BATTLES
Locate the Begioma trainers in the following towns. They are easily identifiable by the presence of a table in front of them, indicating their readiness for battle:
- Altverden
- Kyshiri Village
- Werne
- Eltisweiss
After completing the four Begioma battles and assuming Nowa emerges victorious from each, it’s time to return to Dr. Corque in Eltisweiss. Engage in conversation with him, and he will agree to join your cause. With his inclusion, you can then proceed to the second phase of the Begioma story battle.
SECOND PHASE – BEGIOMA BATTLE
With Dr. Corque now a member of the Alliance, pay him a visit at the headquarters. His house is situated southwest of the castle. Inside, you will encounter Reid.
To proceed with the Begioma battles, locate the trainer in the following towns:
- Daphan Village near the inn
- Arenside
- Treefolk Village near the entrance
Head back to Dr. Corque’s residence in your headquarters to engage in another bout with Reid. Once you emerge victorious, continue your Begioma battles in the following towns:
- Hishahn near the trading post
- Impershi’arc
- Ardinale City, which is the final stop
Once you defeat all of them, Reid will finally join you! Congratulations!
