It was revealed yesterday that physical copies of GTA 6 won’t include a disc, instead will only be a ‘code in the box’ which understandably, has not gone down well with the gaming community in general as it could set a precedent for other videogame publishers and may eventually lead to the death of all physical media. However, a new report from ppe.pl has just surfaced which suggests that GTA 6 will indeed have a physical disc release one month after it’s initial launch on November 19.
According to the outlet which had reported accurately on multiple physical game releases in the past, Rockstar’s open world behemoth is set to have a physical disc release in December as the leaker has cited someone who has obtained information from the backend of a retail store as it’s source, so you may want to take this with a grain of sand.
While Rockstar Games and Take-Two’s decision to not include physical discs at launch could be simply a way to prevent any kind of leaks, it’s currently seeing a divisive response among players. But perhaps we’ll get some concrete answers from the devs real soon, hopefully in the coming weeks as GTA 6 nears it’s launch.
Meanwhile, the Standard edition of GTA 6 will cost $80 while the Ultimate edition comes with a price tag of $100 which also includes a whole array of unlockables ranging from bonus story missions to in-game items, equipment and additional customization. And while the prices are certainly steep for a videogame but when you consider the colossal production value of GTA 6, they do start to feel pretty reasonable.
Also, the pre-order bonuses include the following contents:
- Vintage Vice City Pack
- Vehicle–55 Vapid Stanier
- Weapon Patterns Inspired by Tommi Vercetti
GTA 6 is slated to launch for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19 with pre-orders going on right now.
