It was revealed yesterday that GTA 6 won’t have a physical release but will only come with a code in a box when it launches on November 19, which has led to many players thinking that other games might also follow suit leading to a complete demise of the physical media eventually. However, Insomniac Games has recently confirmed that the upcoming Wolverine will indeed have a physical disc when it comes out this fall, putting an end to many players’ woes regarding the future of physical media.
Having physical discs provides a real sense of ownership for your favorite videogames which is becoming increasingly rare in the industry currently, with the popularity of subscription services that give more control to the publishers than to the actual customers. In such situation, a game like Grand Theft Auto 6 abandoning physical media altogether can signal an alarming possibility for the future but thankfully, as confirmed by Insomniac, discs will indeed continue to be a part of your gaming library.
Marvel’s Wolverine comes out in two different editions–the Standard version of the game will cost you $69.99 while the Digital Deluxe version sports a price tag of $79.99. There’s no mention of a collector’s edition that’s geared towards enthusiasts so if you were hoping for physical collectibles like statues and maybe action figures, looks like there won’t be any of that. However, the Deluxe edition is no slouch and contains the following additional contents, on top of all the pre-order goodies (which include the Classic Brown Suit, Reflective Claws, +1 technique Point along with 4x PlayStation Avatars):

- Five Suits
- Five Claws
The way Insomniac took Spider-Man and pretty much reinvented him up to the towering standards of current-gen AAA gaming, from both technical and mechanical standpoints, it sure looks like they have done the same with Wolverine as well, which is slashing it’s way into the Playstation 5 on September 15 this year.
