Deltarune Chapter 5 is already out, and as it is expected fans are going crazy on social media about this. It is crazy that Chapter 1 released way back in 2018 as a free game, alongside Chapter 2 in 2021. The story feels never ending and it will accompany us for generations. The fact that Toby is doing every chapter as free updates, with the condition that you buy the base game, shows that there is a ton of love and dedication behind it. Ironically, Deltarune was already a thing since 2012, but it got sidelined by the development of Undertale which happened to be a massive hit everyone remembers.

If you are someone who tends to dwell on social media, I would highly recommend to you avoid doing so if you don’t want to get spoiled. Spoilers for this game tend to be crazy, eventually becoming general memes that plague the internet and become quite hard to avoid. Yet who can fault it, it is a great game, and if things keep going this way it might end up being way better than Undertale was, which is already a tall order. I want to see how this story ends someday.
For those who still aren’t in the know for some reason, Deltarune is pretty much a parallel universe of Undertale, considering it shares characters and settings along with some other concepts, yet the vibe seems a bit off in a way. Undertale was meant to be about how your choice matters, yet the way Deltarune is planned seems to forgo that aspect by showing that your choices aren’t as meaningful. Still, considering some things do change, even if minor, it might definitely be a setup for some sort of bait and switch during the finale of the game.
