Arkane Studios Founder has claimed that Xbox Game Pass is a terrible proposal that has been ruining the industry for a decade. It is true, developers don’t really get sales going when schemes like this exist, while the idea of providing people with access to basically everything with just a subscription is tempting, in reality, gamers aren’t getting value out of it either. An overload of choice occurs and causes them to not enjoy what they are playing at the moment, feeling pressured thanks to the huge backlog of games. We at Infinite Start will explain why this happens.
Arkane Studios Founder has a reason to say this
Raphael Colantonio rightfully mentions that Gamepass has been ruining the industry for more than a decade, and he is completely spot on with his claims. Nobody is really making money off of it except for Microsoft, who just wishes to push the “You will own nothing and be Happy” paradigm upon its users. How many more studios are going to fall just to keep the gamepass going? People are playing right in the hands of Microsoft for trusting this model of distribution, as the clear plan for them is to embrace and extinguish everything.
Arkane Studios Founder also claims that it was about time that the system collapsed upon itself, there’s no such thing as “infinite money” being made to finance this decision. Players are also trapped in a sea of new titles and they won’t really complete all of them, Hi-Fi Rush is a victim of the Xbox Game Pass, excellent game, but it didn’t sell enough copies thanks to this system. If they really wanna hold indie studios, they should also make sure to take care of them too and provide them with what they need to succeed. Yet, we only see Microsoft killing studios at a record pace.
