Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons Adds Online Co-Op and More Next Month

Maximum Entertainment revealed Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons will receive a free DLC called Sacred Reunion on Apr. 4.

The free DLC adds the highly required online co-op to go with the currently available local co-op. Along with this, each character will receive new upgrades, and marks the return of Ranzou, a ninja who was last seen in Double Dragon IV. Two additional playable characters are also included, though were not revealed.

Based on the teaser, it’s possible the right character is Sekka. She uses a weapon similar to what can be seen on the right side. However, given the hair style it might be a different take on Blade, or someone similar. As for the left character it’s a lot harder to speculate, possibly someone like Raymond, but expect a full reveal of these two “very soon.”

Update: The left character is Sonny Lee. PlayStation Blog did an expansive overview of him for those interested in all the details.

Finally, Sacred Reunion adds a versus, and survival mode. Not much was revealed about either mode, though Versus has special unlockable backgrounds, and both modes feature unlockable stages.
