Now that we’re officially in Feb. 2023, a wide variety of new campaigns were added to PlayStation Stars. These include free point campaigns, collectibles, and even some exclusive campaigns for those lucky few to qualify.
This month’s tyrannosaurs rex collectible features a heart for Valentines Day. It, like all other check-in campaigns, can be completed by loading any game. It seems every user qualifies for the Glasstron PLM-A35 collectible. Surprisingly, this product released back in 1997, and is one of the more unusual items in Sony’s long history of products. Playing any game will unlock this collectible.
Another fighting cabinet was added for playing Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Soulcalibur VI, Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11, or Guilty Gear -Strive-. This month also features a sports collectible, which can be unlocked by playing Fifa 23, Rocket League, NBA 2K23, NHL 23, or Madden NFL 23.
The latest in the balloon category is a special collectible for those who beat the first boss, Fajar, in Sifu. This is an interesting collectible for a couple of reasons.
Three months ago the balloon line started with Returnal, though it didn’t officially become the “hard game club” until Elden Ring received a collectible last month. Due to controversy with that collectible, some users reported the campaign was reissued shortly after and changed the unlock condition from playing Elden Ring, to earning the trophy for defeating Godrick. It’s possible users like myself get this version, with those without Sifu getting the trophy version, but if you don’t get it and want it, consider giving Sifu a go. A recent update added an easy mode that is supposedly so lax you could probably earn it in 40 minutes.
Along with collectibles, there are several new point campaigns. Preorder either the standard or annual pass edition of Destiny 2: Lightfall to earn 100 extra points. This months purchase campaign gives 50 points for purchasing One Piece Odyssey, Forspoken, NORCO, Ship of Fools, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, or Dead Space.
Another interesting campaign is for PlayStation Plus subscribers. While this month’s offerings should be revealed later today, the campaign gives 50 points for playing Destiny 2: Beyond Light. This all but confirms rumors that this month’s PlayStation Plus line up will be OlliOlli World (PS4/5), Mafia Definitive Edition (PS4), Evil Dead The Game (PS4/5), and Destiny 2 Beyond Light (PS4/5).
Finally, there are reports of a second PlayStation Plus campaign. This is one I did not qualify for, but reddit user nmpo posted it earlier today. Shortly after, reddit user dezroy confirmed these games are Celeste, Life is Strange Episode 1, Yakuza 6, and Spiritfarer.
The covers all the campaigns revealed today, though there will likely be a random collectible to celebrate one of the days this month.
