Meccha Chameleon is out, and so far it has sold one million copies in merely 4 days, this is an amazing record for this new Japanese indie that is taking the world by storm. This is a game you can play on PC right now and it is based on a very popular multiplayer game mode called prop hunt. However, Meccha Chameleon has a very interesting twist to this formula, since we can actually paint our player character to make it hide in the environment. It is up to us on how we can paint it up, so the most skilled painter will be hiding more.
Meccha Chameleon breaks records
As always, multiplayer games are very successful, especially when you can jump into them with friends. A good thing indie developers do when making online games is that you often have the opportunity to make your own servers, unlike triple A ones. It is crazy that small developers that barely earn enough money to do such things are able to do them, meanwhile massive corporations don’t seem to care to do it because that would mean more work for them. These are more reasons to support indie creators and small companies over the bigger ones.
Meccha Chameleon currently sits at a 20% discount, and the servers are chock full of people having fun with it so far, so finding games will not be tough. This game proves that indie developers can bring more innovative ideas compared to industry titans, showing us that a game with smaller budget is much better than a game with bigger budget behind. I still don’t get why companies like Microsoft waste 400 million in games like Gears of War, when it could just take a fraction of a fraction to do a way better game in the first place.
