Capybara Hot Tub is clearly trying to capitalize on the capybara craze that took the world by storm some years ago, it still is taking over as we speak, so this new PC game tries to take advantage of the moment. This is not an indie game, and it can show by the amount of people that is helping to publish the game, so it definitely has at least a million in cash behind it to prop it up and see if it can sell more than what was spent on it. Making games does feel like a gamble, so that’s why budgets often go crazy despite games not looking that well or doing anything different.
Capybara Hot Tub has a demo
You can try out the demo to see if this game is appealing to you, I personally don’t think its the greatest thing ever but there’s at least some effort behind it. The thing that happens with many of these games is that they often come out and get abandoned as soon as the first update drops, and this is in spite of having a roadmap. Hopefully, Capybara Hot Tub won’t make that mistake and it will end up being a one and done deal that does not disappoint.
We still don’t know when it will be releasing, but considering the demo seems to be rather complete then we might be seeing this one in 2026. It would be surprising if it gets delayed because games like this are often pretty simple Unity projects made to try out things. This is a cozy game, so if you were looking for something that is chill and demands nothing from you, then maybe Capybara Hot Tub will be that game for you. If you are interested, perhaps you should leave a spot in your wishlist for it.
