Gunman Contracts – Stand Alone is an amazing VR game that has been developed as a mod of Half Life: Alyx, Valve is pretty much supporting this project and adding it as a release title for its VR Headset. This new PC game is set to release soon with a VR and Non-VR mode, which is an amazing thing because it needs to be accessible to everyone. There is a ton of cool stuff that can be done with VR, and being part of a shootout scene in an action movie is definitely one of them. Of course, the technology is still a niche, so locking it only to VR would kill the game.
Gunman Contracts – Stand Alone coming soon
If you are a fan of action movies, especially those scenes where they just kill each other with slow motion effects and intense action, then Gunman Contracts – Stand Alone is for you. This is a game made by movie buffs who really want to experience living the moment and re-acting all of those scenes. Of course, this is a game, and VR pretty much amounts to having a screen in your head that moves with you, you aren’t transported to another world like marketing tends to say.
Gunman Contracts – Stand Alone releasing with a Non-VR mode is a very important thing because people should be able to experience the game without that constraint. I have a feeling this one will blow up once people start buying into Valve’s VR offerings, and it might end up topping some charts, at least the VR one. There is some future to this VR tech, however its not a revolution to gaming, or anything crazy, its something that stays on the side. Its almost as if every tech that is touted as a revolution eventually reaches nowhere.
