The upcoming Season 4 of Battlefield 6 featuring full-scale Naval Warfare is shaping up to be the biggest event we’ve ever seen from the popular first person shooter and for good reasons as it creates an unprecedented, all-out warfare experience simultaneously across land, air and sea–something that’s unlike anything out there in the entire FPS genre right now. The Battlefield series is always known for delivering epic, sprawling warfare but the new Season in Battlefield 6 which will kick off from July 21, takes it all to another level with it’s addition of naval combat alongside both aerial and boots-on-the-ground gameplay.
And so to give you a proper heads-up on all the exciting new contents, EA and Battlefield Studios have unveiled a full Roadmap for the Season 4 of Battlefield 6, also highlighting the dates and details of the Top Gun crossover featuring “vehicles, characters, and modes inspired by the franchise.” The upcoming collaboration will also star Top Gun: Maverick characters Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller), Lt. Robert “Bob” Floyd (Lewis Pullman), and Adm. Solomon “Warlock” Bates (Charles Parnell) alongside the F-18 Super Hornet, F-14 Tomcat and two new modes.
The array of new contents inspired by the film effectively means that if you’ve enjoyed Top Gun Maverick, you’ll definitely have a blast with the upcoming Season 4 of Battlefield 6.
“It’s a huge honor to appear in a long-running franchise like Battlefield with its millions of fans, and talented people working on it,” Teller said in a statement. “And with Top Gun, it’s like two titans meeting.”
“Battlefield is very intense, whether you’re in the sky or on the ground or fighting in the sea,” Pullman said. “In that way, it’s a perfect pairing with Top Gun.”
As detailed in the official Roadmap, Phase 1: Pacific Front starts things off with the biggest map in the entire series named Tsuru Reef while Phase 2: Top Gun is set to bring Wake Island which is a highly reworked version of the Battlefield 5 map featuring added scale, systems, and other modernized updates plus all the tantalizing crossover contents as it kicks off from August 18. And finally, Phase 3: Tidal Strike is set to close off the entire Season with it’s Deep Six: Collection Event starting from September 15.
“With the addition of Naval Warfare, our Top Gun collaboration, our largest map, and so much more, Season 4 is our biggest update yet and is the perfect opportunity for players old and new to dive in”, Battlefield general manager says Byron Beede has said.
