Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is shaping up to be one of the biggest hits from Ubisoft in recent years as the newly released title is now confirmed to have sold over 3 million units. The modernized version of 2013’s beloved Black Flag had sold a whopping 2 million copies on it’s launch day and around a week later, the open world title has managed to reach another million sold units which is highly impressive in more ways than one. In a recent post on Twitter/X, Ubisoft has announced the sales numbers while confirming that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will also receive a New Game Plus mode sometimes in the near future:
“Yo Ho Ho! More than 3 million copies sold across the seas… 🏴☠️
Special thanks to all of you for playing and sharing tall tales about your Caribbean adventures.
Guess we’ll have to keep the adventures going with New Game+ later on, mates.”
The director of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Richard Knight, had revealed (via GamesRadar) that a New Game Plus feature is in development and will possibly release at some point in the future.
“Yes, we’re working on that right now, for sure. It’s one of the first things. Partly because Shadows has already built their version, so it’s considered a low-risk feature for us. We’re still doing the work, so I can’t promise exactly a day or anything, but we’re definitely working on this one. It’s just such a natural thing,” he said.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has received considerable success upon release, selling over 2 million copies within the first day and generating a total of $35 million in terms of gross revenue for the developers, according to Alinea Analytics. The current-gen remake of 2013’s Black Flag has also received mostly positive reviews from critics and players so far with an 84 Metacritic score which means the latest entry in Ubisoft’s long running franchise is definitely a win, for both the players and the publisher.
