Rogue Carrier just got revealed with a new trailer and based one what I know this will be yet another cool PC strategy game from the hands Wild Fields who just got the help of Hooded Horse when it comes to publishing. It is awesome to see more of these games, as the genre has been pretty underdeveloped lately due to all the focus on popular genres such as souls-likes. There’s a big demand for games like this, but triple A studios never seem to tap into them, with the budget the big players put into games, its always another cinematic experience.

This is yet another 4X strategy game that people seem to love these days, and it comes with a very cool twist to it. We explore the seas of a perilous planet in a carrier that we have to manage, and the planet will try to fight back against us. Of course, we will have to manage things with tons of precision if we wanna survive the force of the natives that attempt to thwart our investigation. This will definitely include a ton of skirmishing against the forces of the world we are meaning to explore, so expect there to be a ton of research in fighting skills.
Rogue Carrier however attempts to spice up things by bringing a different setting and also focusing on the aspect of base building more than anything. There has been a ton of games like this based in space combat, so it is very cool to see one that despite being in an alien planet, it takes the fight in a different route, more oriented towards sea warfare. The ship even reflects that fact, feeling more like a sci-fi tales of pirates who are trying to plunder another planet.
