Valheim is coming out sooner than we think, while you could already play it for years a trailer has dropped showing that the early access period is about to end. This PC game took the world by storm in 2021 as it provided something unique that wasn’t done before in the open world survival genre, that being representing Norse mythology. We are basically taken to a purgatory where we need to survive the ferocious mythical beasts that are representative of the culture, so we can be worthy in the eyes of Odin who always makes us fight the hardest battles.
Valheim coming soon
For those who might not appreciate the blockiness of Minecraft for some reason, I believe that Valheim might be better suited due to its focus on different shapes and forms. There’s clearly some more realism put into it despite the graphical limitations that were chosen to represent the game. One can say the game is truly optimized because it runs in basically any system of the current decades, more games from the triple A scene should learn to pull of what indie developers do because if people can’t buy your game, then your billion dollar investing will end in disaster.
Valheim is huge, thanks to the fact that it uses procedural generation to make massive worlds that feel like they never end. The reality is that these worlds do end, but you usually have to face a journey that might takes days before the world bugs out and does not start processing terrain chunks properly. Of course this might be something that only happens in Minecraft, but once you know how computers work you end up realizing they can’t do truly infinite things. Valheim might end up going on a sale before it releases, so when that happens take advantage of that.
