Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem has proven itself to be a massive success as the newly released action-horror title is now confirmed to have sold 7 million units, which makes it the fastest selling entry in the iconic and long running series. But even more importantly, there’s much more in store for players of Resident Evil Requiem all through 2026 as the devs have recently shared an update on an upcoming mini-game and what it entails.
In a recent interview with Japan’s Denfaminicogamer (translated), Resident Evil Requiem director Akishi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa have opened up about the post-launch content while also confirming that the mini-game is “based on the battles of the main story.”
“However, as for the mini-games, it is already in the final stages of development.”
“For those who have cleared the main story and thought, ‘I haven’t gone on a rampage yet!” Wow!! I think you will enjoy it, so I hope you can sharpen your tomahawk and wait.”
Kumazawa also stated that: “This mini-game is a content that is released by clearing the main story. Therefore, if there are people who will play it in the future, I think it will be just right to play if you clear it during Golden Week.”
It’s important to note that the Golden Week is a national holiday period in Japan which takes place between April 29 and May 5 and that means the bonus content will be added to Requiem in just a few days.

Resident Evil Requiem has also garnered a sky-high score of 9.5 from players in Metacritic, which is among one of the highest rated videogames of all time and is on par with last year’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
