Mewgenics has many secrets left, says its co-creator in 2026

Mewgenics

Mewgenics is an amazing game according to the press and many people who played it, it is also a game filled with tons of secrets and thing to discover, and apparently nobody has found all of the secrets yet. This is something crazy according to the co-creator, Edmund McMillen of The Binding of Isaac fame, because his original creation got data mined by skilled people which spoiled all the fun. To be honest, this is great, the fact that this game holds so many secrets means that there’s more reasons to keep playing it and discovering it.

Mewgenics still hides more

Mewgenics is a crazy game with tons of things to do and strategies to play, its also very grim and macabre like one would expect. I missed this era of games and I’m glad to see they never really left if you end up digging deeper for them, we need more problematic games like Mewgenics. There’s tons of things to discover, random events, conditions, and things to find by mere luck which guarantees people will be playing for hours and hours because this game might as well be infinite this time. Leaving exaggerations aside, its a pretty good game and more people should give it a try.

As always, the good games are those that are filled with tons of secrets and things to discover by oneself, those that guide the player and constantly tell them to make a decision aren’t fun at all if you ask me. This philosophy of game design has been going on for generations now, and it has started in the very beginning of the medium too and popularized by technical advances. There is no reason to drop the sense of mystery, because mystery is what draws people to playing games in the first place.
