Diablo II: Resurrected has numerous areas to explore as players progress through all five Acts. So it’s no surprise that, for the sake of exploration efficiency, we would like to traverse the map more quickly. This is especially true when having to recall to previous areas to satisfy an objective.

Fortunately, players have two options at their disposal for navigating the grim and dim landscapes of Diablo II: Resurrected. We’ll show you how to teleport around Sanctuary so that you can minimize the downtime that usually accompanies long strolls to earlier areas.

How to Fast Travel in Diablo II: Resurrected

As mentioned, there are two ways to fast travel in Diablo II: Resurrected. The difference between the two is that one is housed in static locations across the map, whereas the other can be activated by the player from virtually any area assuming they possess the necessary resource.

Waypoints are the static option. Every town hub has a waypoint, as do many of the enemy-filled locales spanning this adventure. In order to use a waypoint, they must be discovered and activated. The stony structure of these waypoints will make them easily identified as you wonder the Mortal Realm. You will know the waypoint has been activated when the blue flames ignite around the inlayed design. Now that particular waypoint can be chosen when fast traveling via waypoints moving forward.

The other method of fast traveling requires a Tome of Town Portal. These tomes drop from enemies, spring from chests, and can even be bought from NPCs, such as Akara. Using this particular tome will open a portal at the player’s current location and return them to the town hub. The portal will remain open in town, allowing players to continue on from their designated point. These tomes can be especially useful if you find yourself with a full inventory or you simply need to stock up on life-saving resources before pressing on.

Now equipped with the knowledge that safety is but a waypoint or scroll away, you are better prepared to face the forces of evil. You can find more Diablo II: Resurrected coverage here.

Diablo II: Resurrected is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

What are you going to explain next, how to click mouse buttons? Maybe how to blink?
