Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition Finally Announced for PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox One, Series, PC and Mobile Platforms

Rockstar Games finally announced gamings worst kept secret, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, for PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series, PC and mobile devices. The trilogy, which refers to Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, will release on PlayStation, Xbox and PC sometime in 2021, with the mobile release set for 2022.

Unfortunately, very little is officially known about Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, but Rockstar Games did say the following about it:

Across-the-board upgrades, including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals.

Previous rumors suggest some of these changes include improved visuals and menus that keep in line with the original experiences, with other sources claiming there will also be updates for what they described as a modern audience.

In a surprising move, Rockstar Games also confirmed existing versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, will be removed from digital storefronts on “the week of” Oct. 11, 2021. Naturally, anyone who purchased these titles before the removal will be entitled to download them at any time.

Expect more details and information about Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition as we get closer to the release date later this year.
