Study claims Call of Duty players are often cheaters in 2026

Call of Duty

Call of Duty players have always been quite known for cheating scandals and allegations, a new study has been published that proves this issue, that assaults this game series for years, is worse than we originally thought. Activision has opened up and decided to claim this information is false however, as the study is more about something else according to them. This is all worded in a very nice corporate tone that makes them sound like they are in the moral high ground, cause if the cheating wasn’t an issue nobody would really complain about it in the first place.

Call of Duty has a cheater problem

You may see this statement and think, “Well, yea, the sky is always blue”, but there’s definitely more issues with this and it shouldn’t be simplified. Cheating is a complex activity, that involves evolving tools that become harder to track as time goes on, even fooling multiple Anti-cheat systems via the most obvious ways. As an example, people keep jail breaking Valve’s VAC Anti Cheat to the point the company can’t do anything, it really is a game of cat and mouse between hackers and security experts at this point.

Activision tries to plant a firm foot in the ground, stating that they will do anything to ensure that Call of Duty games are cheating free, but that does not mean they have cared for a very long while about this issue, as long as things sell they don’t have to do anything. It is saddening to see the decline of a beloved series, from AI slop to rushed development cycles, the world of Call of Duty has been destroyed with each entry that released. Hopefully, fans of this series realize that there’s better games they can invest their time into, perhaps they can even play older titles in the series.
