Naughty Dog has recently brought in another veteran actor from their earlier Last of Us and Uncharted series of titles for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which is currently in development and is not expected to release at least till next year, at the earliest.
Robin Atkin Downes, who had played ‘Robert’ in Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us along with multiple characters in the Uncharted titles, has recently confirmed on his social media page that he’ll be making an appearance in Intergalactic and although he didn’t reveal who he’s playing, from the video he has shared, the actor seems highly enthusiastic about his role which is great.
Downes is a highly versatile video game actor who has also been in over a dozen of videogames throughout the years–from voicing Medic in Team Fortress 2, Travis Touchdown in No More Heroes and Spider in Destiny 2: Forsaken, Downes’ resume is filled with memorable performances in lots of acclaimed titles.
Also, as Intergalactic already has several A-list actors and actresses, it clearly hints that the game is going to provide a nuanced and memorable narrative experience, perhaps similar to the likes of The Last of Us games.
Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann had said last year that Intergalactic will feature the “deepest gameplay” the studio has ever done which makes the upcoming title incredibly ambitious in the best possible way. But since only a sparse amount of release materials are available as of yet, there’s almost nothing to judge Druckmann’s statements on the game right now, however they do indicate that the combat mechanics of Intergalactic will probably have a lot of depth and versatility which would be really great.
Intergalactic has been in development for over four years and features a star studded cast of Tati Gabrielle from the Uncharted movie as protagonist Jordan A. Mun, and Kumail Nanjiani of Marvel’s Eternals as another in-game character called Colin Graves. The game is not expected to release till 2027 at the earliest.
