Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has just released the new Campaign trailer featuring Mads Mikkelsen which clearly suggests the versatile actor will play the role of the chief antagonist in the upcoming first person shooter. And from what the trailer has shown, it seems he’ll have quite a bit of a personal rivalry with protagonist Captain Price as Mikkelsen’s character says that everything the veteran SAS trooper loves will end up dead.
The Casino Royale actor will likely bring a menacing and compelling performance in the latest entry of the juggernaut FPS franchise which will make for an action packed and gripping narrative experience that’ll keep you at the edge of your chair the entire time.

The trailer also makes it clear that Modern Warfare 4 is playing to the strengths of the Call of Duty franchise by delivering spectacular and character-driven storytelling experience combined with tense and gritty gameplay. The campaign trailer itself is chock full of cinematic moments which hint at a high-octane central narrative featuring some of the most iconic characters in the Modern Warfare saga which started more than a decade ago.
The official press release from the Xbox Tokyo Game Show mentions that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will focus on “the threat of a weapon that could overturn the world order in the hands of the villainous Archer,” and seems Mikkelsen is playing the role of Archer in the game.
The synapsis also adds the following, providing a narrative backdrop between Captain Price and Archar: “In parallel with the Korean invasion and the ongoing manhunt for Price lies an even greater threat. An unknown weapon of war is being delivered to a dangerous enemy known only as The Archer. What’s the weapon capable of, and what are the Archer’s motives in acquiring it?”
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will feature multiple storylines in it’s single player campaign mode and one of them sees players taking on the role of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier set to experience live combat for the first time in a routine mission that quickly escalates into a full-scale invasion by North Korea.
Another branch of the main campaign in the upcoming Modern Warfare 4 is centered around a rather vengeful Captain Price who is undergoing a “personal war from the shadows as he stays one step ahead of those hunting him.” Also, “as Price’s off-book mission collides with the forces behind the invasion, the war spreads beyond anyone’s control,” a line from the upcoming game’s story description states.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to launch on October 23 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and the Nintendo Switch 2.
