Ubisoft seems to be speedrunning their path to bankruptcy, with the new announcement of Age Verification being rolled into the mix it seems that the 5 players that still remain with them might as well just go. I can’t believe it but we might see Ubisoft just disappearing this year hopefully, so they people that still remain working at that place can somehow find solace in a non abusive environment. What pains me the most is that the majority of honest workers won’t really find any place due to the current issues happening in the industry, hopefully they can unite to make something out of this.
Ubisoft does the thing
Discord doing this was a surprise, as they didn’t really need to aim for that, but perhaps in the case of Ubisoft they count because they sometimes tout Ubisoft Connect as a form of social media. Regardless of this, it would be neat to see this being properly implemented as they might as well leak the IDs of every user who is trying to verify. It does not seem that the company they are using is tied to Palantir, but nevertheless forking your personal identifiable information to private companies is always a terrible idea.
I cannot believe that people in this day and age are willing to do so, I’ve always been doing my best to keep everything obfuscated and to this day I think I keep a good track when it comes to this. In today’s climate of surveillance that attempts to encroach on every aspect of our lives we need to do something to fight back against the corruption. It is crazy that the WatchDogs series is published by Ubisoft, yet they are just sinking to the bottoms of those nefarious practices they themselves presented as something bad, maybe we should teach them a lesson.
