Battlefield 6 just added another sales milestone to it’s repertoire as EA’s flagship shooter has officially become the best-selling title in the U.S in the month of October, while also being the highest selling game in the history of the long running series in the U.S as well. According to Circana’s monthly report, Battlefield 6 is currently the highest selling title of this year in both Xbox and the PC platform and the second best-selling game on Playstation, behind only NBA 2K26. The report also states that the game has had the highest sales of any title based on a single month since the past three years.
This effectively means that Battlefield 6 has managed to sell even more than the last few Call of Duty titles in their debut months since the past three years, which is a mighty impressive feat so far. And while it’s still unrealistic to think that EA’s shooter can surpass or even come close to the gigantic sales numbers of a Call of Duty game, but for the first time ever, a Battlefield title has not only gone toe-to-toe with their rival Call of Duty title, it has actually managed to lay the smack down in several aspects, most notably on the player ratings and the overall player counts especially on Steam.
There’s a few reasons behind the surefire success of Battlefield 6 and one of them is that the devs have made the maps a bit smaller than the past titles in the series which were so enormous that many players, after getting killed, would had to run for a while just to reach the point where the action is happening. But in Battlefield 6, the maps were made more tighter and narrower, which made sure that the players were never out of the action while still keeping the scale considerably larger.
This resulted in the game being much more engaging and tense than any other previous entry in the franchise which definitely helped with attracting players and making sure they come back for more.
Another reason is the phenomenal level of optimization that had gone into Battlefield 6 which makes the game run smoothly on a wide range of GPUs that’s also pretty rare to come by these days. Both of these factors have gone into making the game incredibly successful and with the jam packed roadmap ahead of the players, it seems Battlefield 6 is almost destined to become even bigger and greater in every way.
