Godrick the Grafted is the first of the five demigods you fight in Elden Ring. It is recommended before you fight him that you’re well prepared as the boss will deal massive damage if you give him the chance. Luckily, you will be able to summon an NPC called Nepheli that you meet just before you face Godrick and will be able to help you defeat Godrick.
If you think you have what it takes to defeat him and you are geared enough, here’s our guide on how to defeat Godrick the Grafted in Elden Ring.
How to defeat Godrick the Grafted in Elden Ring:
The area that Godrick is close to has a rectangular design that offers both high and low elevations. Watch out for the open areas, as it’s possible to fall to your death. Make use of the environments around you as they can block certain attacks, especially the big dragon in the middle of the courtyard that can act as some sort of shield when Godrick is about to do a cleave attack.
Before the fight, summon Nepheli just before stepping in, followed by a Spirit Ash as soon as the fight begins. I suggest using a Jellyfish. With a Spirit Ash and Nepheli helping you out, Godrick will be distracted. Make sure they’re the target before taking advantage, as there is no guarantee he will remain distracted.
Godrick likes to do an attack where he’ll leap towards you or the NPCs and cleaves. He can also cartwheel, preventing you from being able to dodge. He also has a large area of effects, which you need to watch out for.
Once Godrick is at 50, the battle will move to phase two. Godrick will now be able to use fire attacks along with his normal attacks. Right after phase 2 begins, run away from him as he will use a flamethrower-like skill. Once he is done, come towards him and assuming Nepheli is still alive, have her attack Godrick to get his attention. Since Godrick will be using his normal skills with fire, make sure you watch the animation as it indicates he is about to use a special attack. Make sure you dodge roll when you he cleaves and sometimes rolling helps you dodge his flamethrower attack.
As soon as he dies, you will be able to get your first Great Rune and a Remembrance of the Grafted that you can exchange for runes or high-leveled weapons.
