Capcom’s Devil May Cry is one of the most iconic pure action or character action series ever made that has also revolutionized the entire hack-n-slash genre more than once, first with Devil May Cry 1 and then with Devil May Cry 3 which is still cited as one of the greatest action titles of all time. The last entry in the series, titled Devil May Cry 5, came out back in 2019 and is where the series reached it’s peak, in terms of it’s combat system which makes it one of those timeless videogame experiences that never gets old and yields unlimited replay value.
However, there have been many rumors regarding the possibility of a remake of the first game in the series and according to ‘just your average leaker’, it’s an affirmative but may take quite a bit of time which is kind of expected for a modernized version of the classic hack-n-slash title:
‘Let’s be blunt about it. You’re getting a DMC1 Remake. Yes. just like those rumors said. Hearing it’s pretty far along actually but I’ll have to see for myself before making any release/trailer date bets.’
The leaker has a pretty average hit-n-miss record with providing leaks so you may want to take this with a grain of salt, but he does say that a Devil May Cry 1 Remake is indeed in the works at Capcom so there’s certainly hope.
In other news of the series, Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition has been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 recently with additional contents such as the Vergil DLC, battle tracks, alternate costume colors and more. The Switch 2 version of Devil May Cry 5 is also set to run at a locked 60 FPS on both TV and handheld modes, offering a highly enjoyable and consistent gameplay experience whether you are docked or playing on the go. So if you’re on the Nintendo handheld, you can now experience one of the greatest action titles practically anywhere when it comes out tomorrow.
