Crimson Desert has come a long way since it was released–with multiple updates ironing out nearly all of the gameplay-related issues of the open world action adventure title, it’s safe to say that it’s a far superior game now than it was during launch, and with the latest Roadmap unveiled by the devs, it seems the improvements are far from over. Pearl Abyss has just released an official new roadmap for Crimson Desert that outlines many different ways the studio plans to refine the game even further, most notably including story improvements, whole new combat contents, tons of quality-of-life tweaks and more.
The upcoming new changes and improvements will be implemented via multiple updates from June through September, with each of them making substantial changes or additions in various aspects of Crimson Desert. There will also be an upgrade to the Re-Blockade feature with new ways to defend certain strongholds from invasion which will also provide new incentives to the players for continuing to engage in the game world long after the completion of the story.
However, the biggest and certainly most awaited improvement would be to the story itself along with the main protagonist’s character growth–which was one of the weaker aspects of Crimson Desert. But if Pearl Abyss manages to add more narrative beats or to improve the story in several ways with the upcoming updates, not only will the game be a far more engaging experience but it’ll also set a new precedent in the industry as to how much a title can be improved after launch. And this is what makes Pearl Abyss’ ongoing aims to improve Crimson Desert so much more promising and worth looking forward to.
Pearl Abyss has also mentioned a DLC that’s currently at works for Crimson Desert, and although no release window has been given so far, more additional contents are destined to arrive for the game at some point at the near future.
