CDPR is a big player in the industry, for now they have been focusing on big projects that target both The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. They also announced a Witcher 4 expansion isn’t on the cards right now, and it makes sense because they have recently released one for The Witcher 3. They are hard at work trying to make The Witcher 4 a reality, and judging from how the game looks and how much they flex their graphics, its going to be a huge hit in the video game market. We still don’t know much about what we can expect however.
CDPR plans no Witcher 4 expansion
A Witcher 4 expansion so early would be huge, but I’m very sure that with enough time, the game will be squeezed out of content just like what’s happening with The Witcher 3. Perhaps we can expect to see yet another one coming in The Witcher 3 before one releases for The Witcher 4, and it would be rather crazy if this happens. Seems like the leaks have been confirmed because they have dropped the Songs of the Past expansion, so maybe the rest of the details about it are also true. A The Witcher 4 expansion might just tie into The Witcher 5, if it ever happens.
Trying to bridge the player base from one sequel to another proves to be a challenge, even back in the day when releases came by quicker numbers ended up dwindling despite game sequels being good. Drawn out developments makes people excited for more, but I’m starting to consider that maybe we shouldn’t be making a game for so long and expectations should be kept in check. As more millions are poured into the industry creating huge cinematographic pieces of games, indie developers are behind trying to keep the industry afloat with novel concepts.
