Hawked is dead in the water, the PC game that somewhat copied Fortnite is now out of the way because people just get increasingly tired of Live Service games that they never asked for. This comes at a time where a ton of live service games, even the ones that had artificial hype behind them, end up fizzling quicker than Concord did, we don’t even know the name of some of these by the way. It is crazy that so many companies aim to make one of them despite the big risks involved with the development of them, but I’m not gonna stop them from making bad financial decisions.
Hawked got shot down
The hawk is down, and it won’t be coming back even if it lasted longer than many live service games that released today, a run of 2 years is quite a bad number because oftentimes people tend to play these games more often. Hawked had a weird set of unfocused ideas and many people criticized it for that, it was unfun to play, and also unfun to interact with in any way. It seems that the people behind this took a hint and decided to pull the plug because they would never steal the fire that Fortnite stole.
Hawked makes no sense at all in a world where people hate copycats, and while it brought its own ideas and takes, the aesthetic department really killed them because its impossible not to compare it to Fortnite. However, no matter the style, people will always play what’s tried and true like Counter Strike or even League of Legends, there’s no reason to move to another Live Service game as long as there’s no massive jump in quality. Overwatch is also starting to lose its grip, which is surprising to think about judging from the recent update.
