Jagex Confirms RuneScape: Dragonwilds Will Retain $30 Price Tag for 1.0 Launch

Jagex has officially confirmed through an official announcement that RuneScape: Dragonwilds will maintain its current retail price of $29.99 (£24.99 in the UK) when the open-world survival game leaves Early Access and debuts its full 1.0 release on September 15. The announcement comes as a relief to players who anticipated a standard price bump, a practice that has become typical across the industry when PC Early Access titles transition to full retail products.

The upcoming milestone marks a significant shift for the 25-year-old franchise, bringing a mainline RuneScape title to home consoles for the first time. Alongside its launch on PC, version 1.0 will land on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, complete with full crossplay support across all platforms. The $29.99 base fee will grant players full access to the complete Kuldra’s Saga content alongside all non-cosmetic updates released during the Early Access period.

To further lower the barrier to entry, Jagex has secured day-one placement on major subscription services. RuneScape: Dragonwilds will join both Xbox Game Pass and the PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium catalogs on release day, allowing active subscribers to download and play the full version at no additional cost. The move aims to capitalize on the momentum generated during Early Access, which has already drawn over one million players on PC.

Looking past the mid-September debut, the studio confirmed that post-launch support will follow a steady cadence without locked expansion passes. Free monthly content additions will continue immediately, starting with an upcoming update titled Luminance. Additional roadmap details regarding the game’s post-2026 plans and future narrative sagas in Ashenfall are scheduled for reveal at the upcoming RuneFest event later this year.
