Tomb Guard is yet another game about skeletons and dungeons, similar concept to Deathward, but taken in a different direction in many aspects. This PC game has us controlling a band of skeletons in action oriented battles, however we can actually freeze time to organize our strategy cause this is now hack and slash game, but its a strategy game. Not many strategy games nowadays seem to allow this, but stopping the action to focus can be a crucial thing that can define if you win or lose the game. The game looks fun, although the only thing we can try right now is the demo.
Tomb Guard coming soon
This is yet another game that is an indie without a publishing studio behind, and as we can see, more people are starting to make game independently. This is great because it removes the consolidated power of bigger studios and gives that power back to the people, unfortunately we also have to deal with the fact that games like this don’t get as much notoriety as the bigger names do. But a good journalist actually sheds light upon these games, I believe that more people should know about this new release.
While I’m not entirely sure when it will be dropping, it will probably be an October release of this year if they wanna break the fourth wall a bit. Tomb Guard has some very interesting gameplay elements that I never thought I would see again, all of it wrapped in a retro aesthetic that looks quite good from afar if you ask me. It really makes me remember those old strategy games on PC that allowed you to take your time to think. Hopefully, Tomb Guard doesn’t fizzle out like Deathward did, I think people should check both of these out.
