Rockstar Games has confirmed that a brand-new heist update is arriving in Grand Theft Auto Online on July 14, tasking players with infiltrating the Kortz Center to pull off a high-stakes art theft. Dubbed the Kortz Center Heist, the upcoming content drop will allow groups of up to four players to scope out the museum, manufacture tailored breaching tools, and execute a multi-phase robbery involving an intricate forgery mechanic.
Unlike traditional robberies in the game, players will collaborate with an in-game counterfeiter to substitute real museum pieces with forged replicas during the mission. Once the genuine artwork is successfully stolen, players face a choice: liquidate the assets for an immediate payout or transport the paintings back to their personal properties to serve as home decor. To keep the gameplay loop fresh, Rockstar plans to cycle three new high-value paintings into the museum’s rotation each week.
Accessing the heist requires meeting specific financial and property prerequisites within the game’s economy. Players looking to host the mission must own a Mansion property and purchase the newly introduced Art Studio expansion, though these requirements do not apply to players simply joining another user’s crew. To ease the financial barrier, Rockstar is offering a GTA $1 million discount on the Art Studio expansion, alongside a free Annihilator Stealth helicopter and a specialized sculpture, to any Mansion owners who log into the game before July 13.
The update comes alongside broader community incentives aimed at maintaining player engagement ahead of the update’s launch. All active players who log in before July 13 will receive a GTA500,000 bonus and a Benefactor Turreted Limo, while completing any existing heist during this window grants an additional GTA1 million reward and a unique NOOSE outfit. For premium subscribers, the update will also introduce the Grotti Veleno GT sports car, which launches for free to GTA+ members on July 14, providing a one-week exclusivity window before the vehicle becomes available to the general player base.
