Pocketpair has officially launched Palworld version 1.0, marking the monster-catching survival game’s definitive exit from early access after two years of massive global success. The highly anticipated milestone update introduces a sweeping overhaul to the base game alongside a staggering amount of fresh content. Developers revealed that the initial internal draft for the patch notes spanned 27 PDF pages, underscoring the sheer scale of the balance changes, mechanical reworks, and expansions hitting the live servers today.
Headlining the launch is the introduction of 72 entirely new Pals, drastically expanding the roster of creatures players can capture, breed, and put to work. To house these new additions, Pocketpair has opened up two major endgame zones: Sunreach and the World Tree. Sunreach consists of a cluster of floating islands situated east of Feybreak Island, packed with unique resources and rare Pals. Meanwhile, the long-teased World Tree—a landmark visible since day one of early access—is finally accessible, though players must first defeat the game’s core challenges to unlock it.
Conquering those challenges will require adjusting to a completely revamped progression flow. The game’s campaign and main missions have been thoroughly overhauled, most notably changing how the pivotal tower bosses operate. Every tower boss now features updated battle arenas and completely new animations. Crucially, the encounters are now much more demanding, as the developers have slashed the battle time limit in half, forcing players to defeat these bosses in just five minutes rather than the previous ten.
Beyond the headline features, the 1.0 patch stabilizes the underlying systems to provide a smoother experience for returning players. Returning veterans can choose to dive straight into the new endgame content with their existing early access save files, or opt for a completely fresh start to experience the overhauled onboarding and story progression from scratch. The definitive version of the survival phenomenon is available now across all supported PC and console platforms.
