League of Legends is definitely one of the worst competitive games out there, even since its inception. Yet mechanically it is quite interesting, I remember the old days (unfortunately), and they seem to be making a return. Classic mode is in the works, and it seems that it won’t be the same exact classic that we all know and hate, according to some leakers, it seems to be a hodgepodge of multiple ideas. This is cool since it means it will be a new mode, but it also sucks since we won’t be able to play the older formats as they were meant to be played.
League of Legends does something
And it seems that this something is dividing the community further, we all know the majority of people will just stick to playing ARAM since that’s the mode that allows you to escape from the toxicity of ranked. It also feels like the mode that helps you eventually tap out of League of Legends forever, if Linux already didn’t help protecting you from the invasive kernel level anti cheat known as Vanguard that Riot employs to steal your data in the guise of protecting the game. This is definitely a thing many hostages, I mean, players keep ignoring.
League of Legends isn’t worth it, not even if they include a full classic mode that brings back the first hits of dopamine the first games we played give us. There’s no reason to go back to something that keeps decaying, especially when Riot just tries to create a Frankenstein of memories that aren’t worth revisiting. However, if you are still into the game for some particular reason, I genuinely think you should give it a try if you want something more casual. Or who knows, actually play a better competitive game like fighting games.
