The official multiplayer reveal for one of this year’s hotly anticipated titles, Gears of War: E-Day has arrived, with a full breakdown on it’s different modes such as Horde Siege, Versus along with Cosmetics and more. Check out the full trailer below:
Developer The Coalition has confirmed that in terms of cosmetics in the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day, there won’t be any Battle Pass system that means you can unlock almost everything solely through gameplay progression and shows that the latest entry in the iconic Gears series fully retains it’s old-school DNA which is great news for all fans of the franchise.
Players can unlock new items and gears via completing various seasonal and event challenges, hitting specific milestones and by earning medals through the Classic Medal System. Also, each season in Gears of War: E-Day will bring whole new characters from both the COG and Locust factions along with new weapon skins, customization options, challenges, medals and more. The devs have also made it clear that there won’t be any pay-to-win elements in the game which effectively means no microtransaction in Gears of War: E-Day.
The devs have detailed two key modes from the multiplayer and one of them is Horde Siege where you can choose from four distinct classes: Assault, Marksman, Breacher, and Medic with each class having it’s own unique progression system for weapons, armor and more. The mode will offer missions which include both primary and secondary objectives with plenty of explosive action that fans have come to expect from the series and then some.
In Versus mode, there’s PvP matches where each player starts with the same loadout and dukes it out on symmetrical arenas with four game modes namely: Team Deathmatch, Conquest, Demolition and Crucible.
Gears of War: E-Day will also feature four-player multiplayer co-op which will be playable across the game’s Campaign, the Horde Siege PvE mode and the Versus PvP mode where you can choose your class and join your friends to take down the Locus horde together.
The standard edition of Gears of War: E-Day comes at $69.99 while the premium version costs $99 which also includes the following bonus contents:
- Up to 5-Days Early Access
- Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack
- Five Seasonal Customization Packs, starting with the Emergence Pack at launch (the remaining packs will be available as released)
- 1,000 Iron (premium in-game currency)
Gears of War E-Day is set to release on October 6, 2026 exclusively for Xbox Series S|X.
