Foghorns Drown gets an amazing PC release in 2026

Foghorns Drown

Foghorns Drown really nails down that early 3D game aesthetic, the graininess really helps deliver the sense that this game is old, despite the fact that it released today. This is a new PC horror game for fans of psychological horror and it is made by an indie studio that needs more notoriety. Their games are good, and they always have the particularity of feeling like something you would find in the late era of the PS1, or maybe the early days of the PS2. To nail the atmospheric feel of an horror game, sometimes the best thing one can do is “downgrade” graphics.

Foghorns Drown is out

You’re a ferryman in Birchwood, a remote village isolated beyond a lake veiled in thick fog. Mysteries and folklore haunt your dreams in this new psychological horror game. It really feels like its aiming for something more similar to classics like Silent Hill, but its definitely its own work made with love by Studio Laaya. There is a ton of things to uncover, and the game also supports achievements by Steam, which are guaranteed to be rare because it might remain being a niche title not many complete or play.

Hopefully this isn’t the case, and this is why I’m making a note about this game in the first place, the production value is insane for the money they are asking. Foghorns Drown might be something you should keep an eye on during 2026, and it currently sits at a 10% release discount that will end in July 27th. If you are interested you should support the developers behind this one with a purchase, we need to incentivize the good work of people with money that the triple A industry does not deserve. If you are interested but don’t wanna buy it yet, add Foghorns Drown to the wishlist.
