The Coalition and Xbox have officially disclosed the PC system requirements for Gears of War: E-Day following its prominent showcase at the Xbox Games Showcase. Alongside the confirmation of an October 6, 2026 release date, developers revealed that the upcoming prequel will demand significant hardware performance and an extensive storage footprint from PC players.
To run the game at minimum settings, players will need at least an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics card. On the processor front, the baseline demands are somewhat more accessible, requiring either an Intel Core i7-6850K or an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, paired with 12 GB of RAM and Windows 10.
For the recommended experience, the performance threshold climbs to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT. The recommended configuration also dictates an Intel Core i5-11600K or an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a 64-bit installation of Windows 11.
The most demanding hurdle for many users will be the mandatory 130 GB of free space required on a solid-state drive (SSD). This substantial file size places the upcoming shooter among the largest modern installations on the platform. PC users planning to experience the origin story of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago on launch day will likely need to audit their existing storage drives well in advance.
While Gears of War: E-Day will launch as an Xbox console exclusive, the simultaneous PC version remains on track. Players can currently view the official hardware specifications and add the title to their wishlists directly through the Steam store page.
