Halo: Campaign Evolved is currently underway but if the newest reports are true, all fans of the original Halo trilogy are in for a delight as remakes of both Halo 2 and Halo 3 are in active development and could be released sooner than you may expect. Reliable leaker and insider Rebs Gaming has recently stated that he has received confirmation from multiple sources that remakes of both Halo 2 and 3 are in development:
“In a previous video report, I revealed that a former Halo Studios developer confirmed to me that the studio is remaking the Halo trilogy. Since then, I’ve recieved confirmation from two more sources that Halo Studios is developing remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3.
One of my new sources has sent me proof to verify themself and that the trilogy remakes are definitely happening, regardless of how well Campaign Evolved does. More specifically, active development is underway on all three remakes, and the Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes are in early development.”
If the reports are indeed accurate, we’ll see the entire original Halo trilogy in modernized, current-gen glory which will also bring back some of the most iconic and memorable single player experiences in the history of the first person shooter genre.
Also, Rebs Gaming had stated previously that the upcoming and hotly anticipated Halo Campaign Evolved is now “pretty much content complete” and fully playable from start to finish, including its prequel missions.
The upcoming first person shooter will only feature a single player campaign without any multiplayer component which makes sense as the original multiplayer mode in Halo: Combat Evolved would feel way outdated in the modern era of gaming and it’s likely that developer 343 Industries will take a bit more time to develop the multiplayer side of things which they’ll include in the next mainline Halo title than in the remake.
