The FIFA games are some of the most engaging and genre-defining sports titles to have ever made and still remains as some of the fondest memories for many older gamers but after the highly successful FIFA 23 which was delisted by EA after it became only a year old, news regarding the decade old franchise have been pretty scarce. However, it seems the age-old sports franchise is about to make a grand comeback ahead of the World Cup which is scheduled for this year as FIFA has recently announced the Digital Football Strategy with plans to extend the brand across other esports, and digital platforms through partnerships with multiple developers and publishers.
Overall, if you have played and enjoyed the older soccer titles, you’re going to love what FIFA has in store for the sub-genre as it can lead to a complete resurgence in even bigger ways than ever before.
According to their newly announced Digital Strategy, FIFA will be transitioning from a single-partner model towards a structured and multi-partner ecosystem orchestrator, “allowing the organisation to continuously improve reach and relevance across multiple gaming genres, platforms and audiences.”
“By establishing a scalable foundation in gaming and esports, we’re creating new opportunities for our 211 Member Associations and our Commercial Partners to participate and collaborate, which in turn will provide fans with greater options to engage with football,” said FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström. “Our ambition is to build a sustainable and adaptable ecosystem that reflects how football is experienced today and how it’ll continue to evolve in the future.”
And what it all really boils down to, is the current full lineup of titles that include the following:
- Football Manager 26
- eFootball
- FIFA Rivals
- FIFA World Cup
- FIFA Heroes
- FIFA Super Soccer
All of these titles are now under FIFA and will provide a far more genre-encompassing experience of the iconic sports for all players. And among them, FIFA World Cup is the official name of the upcoming Netflix game developed by Delphi Interactive that was reported last year.
