Blizzard Entertainment has detailed the first major post-launch update for the Lord of Hatred expansion, following a successful launch window that saw Diablo 4 break its concurrent player record on Steam. Scheduled for release on May 13, 2026, Patch 3.0.2 prioritizes the restoration of several high-profile items and skills that were temporarily disabled due to technical issues, alongside a comprehensive overhaul of the new Talisman system.
The most immediate change for many players will be the return of build-defining equipment. The Spiritborn’s Armored Hide Skill Variant, “Trampled Under Foot,” is set to be re-enabled after Blizzard addressed a bug that caused it to deal unintended levels of damage. Similarly, Rogues and Sorcerers will regain access to The Umbracrux and The Oculus, respectively. These items were pulled from the game shortly after the expansion’s debut to prevent gameplay exploits and stability issues.
Talismans and Set Charms, a central pillar of the expansion’s endgame, are receiving significant quality-of-life improvements to make loot management less cumbersome. Once the update goes live, Set Charms will feature a unique drop sound and a distinct minimap icon, ensuring players don’t accidentally overlook them in the chaos of high-tier dungeons. Druids specifically stand to benefit from a rework of the Storm Shepherd set; the 2-piece and 5-piece bonuses have been adjusted to stack their damage multipliers, significantly raising the power floor for Storm-based builds.
Beyond equipment tuning, Blizzard is streamlining the endgame loop by adding a direct teleport function for active War Plans. This change removes the need for manual travel to objective sites, allowing players to jump straight into the action. The patch also addresses a massive list of campaign and quest blockers, such as the progression bug in the “Fish of Dreams” quest. As Season 13 continues without a standalone seasonal mechanic, these refinements are intended to keep the focus firmly on the expansion’s new systems and the ongoing balance of the Warlock and Spiritborn classes.
