Liquid Swords Confirms Fall 2026 Window for Samson Console Launch

Developer Liquid Swords has officially narrowed the release window for the console versions of its open-world title, Samson, targeting a Fall 2026 launch. While the studio stopped short of naming specific hardware, the current development roadmap strongly suggests that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players will finally get their hands on the “GTA clone” that has seen a turbulent life on PC since its debut earlier this month.

The announcement, delivered via a Steam community update, arrives at a critical time for the project. Following a polarized reception upon its initial release on April 8, the team is attempting to rehabilitate the game’s image through a rigorous patching schedule. The new 2026 roadmap outlines a plan to deliver roughly ten post-launch updates and two major content expansions before the game makes its transition to home consoles.

The immediate focus for Liquid Swords remains the PC version’s technical stability. An update scheduled for April 22 is set to introduce combat refinements and vehicle tuning updates specifically for keyboard users, alongside the usual suite of performance optimizations. This will be followed closely by another patch on April 29, which the developer claims will directly address community-driven feedback regarding gameplay flow and persistent bugs.

Looking further ahead, the studio is preparing two significant content drops to pad out the experience. A mid-May update will focus on expanding the game’s combat mechanics, while a June update is slated to introduce new vehicle-focused activities. By the time the Samson console ports arrive in the latter half of the year, Liquid Swords hopes to have a much more polished product that can stand on its own in a crowded market. Whether these iterative improvements will be enough to win over a skeptical audience remains to be seen, but the developer is clearly betting on a “slow and steady” approach to salvage the title’s reputation.
