Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition gets terrible reviews on PC

Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition

Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition came out today and it sucks in every way. Not only the emulation is shoddy, but the most important versions don’t get to keep their most iconic part, the soundtrack. Rayman is a very underrated series, to the point that not even Ubisoft remembers that this is what put them in the spotlight in the first place. Some companies are ungrateful towards the heroes that made them be what they are and it is truly saddening to see everything one loves crumble to dust and be barely preserved, if you can even call this preservation in the first place.

Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition is a bummer

Removing the original soundtrack by Rémi Gazelle is truly a huge mistake, and it is clear that they didn’t even want to pay the creator either, it really is on brand with that Ubisoft type of greed that was brought by companies like EA Games and others, contaminating once functional and beloved groups into monsters that only churn out slop and layoff people. Removing the magic from the game shows you how detached from reality Ubisoft truly is, and while the compositions of Christophe Héral are nice they simply don’t fit the vibes in any way.

There’s something wrong when playing Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition, shoddy emulation aside, some describe it as an uncanny experience, and honestly I can feel it, I have seen the game being played and its nothing like I remembered it to be in my childhood. This cultural whitewashing of video games needs to stop if companies pretend that we care about not pirating their old works. Most of the time collections such as the Super Bomberman Collection not only keep things intact but also throw in some amazing freebies, it really makes you ask, what happens in the head of Ubisoft these days? Why do they hate Rayman so much?
