Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 has been a triumphant release in this year which managed to not only outgun it’s rival Activision’s juggernaut Call of Duty franchise significantly, it’s also showing no signs of slowing down as the recently revealed roadmap for EA’s flagship shooter highlights exciting changes and new contents that will make you come back for more all throughout next year.

Starting off, there will be new maps and additional changes for the multiplayer in Battlefield 6 plus the possibility of a new Solo mode for Battlefield REDSEC as well along with many more exciting content drops that’s designed to increase the playability even further.

In a new ‘Battlefield 6 – Community Update – Holiday Wrap-Up’ blog post, EA and Battlefield Labs have outlined the complete roadmap for the first person shooter for next year besides also sharing some phenomenal stats which clearly prove that Battlefield 6 has been the go-to multiplayer FPS experience of this year. Check them out below:

  • Played over 1.7 billion matches and logged 383.5 million gameplay hours.
  • Delivered 12.4 billion kills and 871 million revives.
  • Destroyed 102 million helicopters and jets.

The Battle rages hard and long in EA’s premier first person shooter experience and to top it all off, there’s a lot more to come that’s sure to drive those numbers even further beyond. For example, the devs will be “refining core gameplay, balance, and quality-of-life improvements across Multiplayer, REDSEC, and Portal,” there will also be an assortment of new maps and all of which will “introduce fresh tactical opportunities and keep the experience evolving in meaningful ways.”

The Battle Royale mode will also likely get a solo mode at some point in next year: “We are working through the technical details to deliver it at a quality level that feels right for Battlefield. Once we are confident in the plan and timing, we will share more.”

Playground Games Confirms 15-to-20 Hour Campaign for Fable Reboot Playground Games has confirmed that the upcoming Fable reboot will feature a mainline story lasting between 15 and 20 hours. Speaking during a group press session at Gamescom 2026, associate game director Will Kennedy outlined the scope of the project, stating that the central questline is paired with a similar 15-to-20-hour block of side quests and open-world exploration. Beyond authored content, the developers emphasized that the title’s simulation and life systems allow for indefinite play depending on player investment. Full coverage of the interview context can be found in Polygon’s developer Q&A. This targeted duration keeps the reboot in line with the structure of Lionhead Studios' original trilogy rather than the massive scale of modern role-playing games. The 2004 original averaged roughly 12.5 hours for its main path, while Fable II and Fable III clocked in at approximately 13 and 13.5 hours respectively. By keeping the core path concise, Playground Games appears focused on density and narrative pacing rather than padding out the experience with mandatory filler. Community reception to the announcement has leaned positive, particularly among veteran players who prefer tightly structured campaigns over 100-hour commitments. As discussed in a active Reddit community thread, many players welcomed the focused runtime, noting that the series' signature alignment shifts and choice-driven paths naturally encourage multiple playthroughs. The game’s optional activities will include property ownership, local employment, and dynamic NPC interactions, extending gameplay well past the main story credits. Following previous delays, Fable is scheduled to launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
