Microsoft closes The Initiative, important studio that was trying to keep the hype behind Xbox afloat. PC and Xbox players alike are surprised about this reveal, since the game was so hyped up in 2020 when the trailer dropped. These is related to the massive layoffs that have been happening in the industry for years now, and things will only get worse from now on. As this keeps happening, more and more people are starting to lose job positions at an industry that should be sustainable, but now its occupied by people who only care about quick returns. We at Infinite Start will cover this injustice.
Microsoft closes The Initiative, Perfect Dark is dead
Xbox is to blame for this, or more specifically Microsoft, they don’t realize that the Game Pass service is pretty much the main issue as to why things like this end up happening. If they only cared about making good games that you can own, they would probably be able to compete in this industry, they are Microsoft after all. Alas, their modus operandi is keeping you tied to subscriptions, tied to the fact that you don’t own the things you pay for, and this is why the industry is collapsing. The Initiative is a very important studio and now its not with us anymore.
This has happened to the studio behind Hi-Fi Rush, an amazing title that despite selling well and becoming a hit, was axed down because Microsoft is greedy. Much to the like of Netflix, Microsoft wants you to actually subscribe and rent games for a limited period of time. Once they finish with those services, they will disable them so you have to move to another console. With this, all the money you have spent in a service will not be worth it, better get a PC where you can own your things.
