Funcom has released patch 1.1.10.0 for its survival epic, Dune: Awakening, in July 2025, with a comprehensive batch of fixes and overhauls to smooth out the player experience on Arrakis. The highly anticipated patch targets several pending issues that have plagued gameplay since the game’s release.
One of the more notable releases is a company fix for a resource duplication bug. The cheat, which enabled players to create unlimited resources, could have easily put a severe imbalance into the economy and progression systems of the game. The fix to it is a perfect demonstration of Funcom’s dedication to providing a balance and stable world. Other than this, the update also includes a significant decrease in the frequency of faction sieges of player bases, introducing a more regulated challenge by the opposing Atreides and Harkonnen factions. This change should give players greater flexibility to catch their breath so that they can build their operations without constant siege.
Environmental difficulty on Arrakis has also been increased. Now, there are more spawnings of neutral sandworms in freshly harvessted spice fields, making it more dangerous as well as rewarding to explore these valuable resource areas. Combat players can even discover Asmara Efendi’s store restocked with more exotic weapon blueprints, presenting additional possibilities for player power customization and development.
Furthermore, Funcom has been diligent in addressing problematic quality-of-life problems. A common issue of missing items from inventory that players have encountered when traveling to areas like the Deep Desert or Hagga Basin via the World Map has been fixed. This patch is particularly welcome, as it goes to show the reliability of core gameplay loops built around exploration and resource collection.
While the patch itself is focused on stability and fixing wrecking bugs, it accidentally redirects overall community grievances, such as griefing in the Deep Desert, by consolidating necessary mechanics to the game. Initial player reaction has widely recognized the developers’ rapid response, though anecdotal reports of new issues, such as server join bugs, emerged in the minutes after the update. This ongoing dialogue between developers and players continues to be critical to the ongoing development of Dune: Awakening.
