Krafton fires Subnautica 2‘s core developers. PC gamers should be aware of that fact before making any purchase on the game. If the creators are unable to get their cut after making the game, then it makes no sense to buy it at all. Krafton is a company known to use “AI” tools to put slop work out of the content mill, they should not be trusted after all the decisions they have made in the past. This mirrors many events that happened in the industry, such as firing the developer of Rollerdrome. Trying to steal the hard work of others is not okay, and it shouldn’t be normalized. We at Infinite Start tell you to boycott this game.
Krafton fires Subnautica 2’s main team
Subnautica 2‘s development is in a big crisis. The new leadership change is far from ideal, as it is clear that what they wanna do with the game is push it out as quick as possible. With the original team gone, there really isn’t a reason to support this release, Unknown Worlds CEO Ted Gill, Subnautica director Charlie Cleveland, and technical director Max McGuire were fired yesterday without any apparent reason. These are core members that have lost their jobs and their project, and the quality of the result will be less than ideal without them on the ship.
Subnautica is an amazing experience, and its sad to see it get tainted by the evil schemes of Krafton, they shouldn’t have worked with such publisher in the first place. Sometimes you don’t have a choice however, and you gotta do things in the way they like it or get fired in the spot, this is the main reason why so many games are very bad right now. Indie developers should try to stick to indie publishers who can fund and understand them better.
