Super Meat Boy is the jump to fame that Edmund McMillen took when getting into the big indie scene. PC gamers remember the frustration of having to finish all levels in it, only to be greeted that there’s more levels than just the story mode. Super Meat Boy is easily one of the most legendary titles, for both its difficulty and apparent simplicity that the game emanates. For those who have played the game in the past, there’s some interesting news regarding it. It seems that Super Meat Boy is going full 3D and this is highly unexpected. We at Infinite Start will cover this reveal.
Super Meat Boy into 3D
The challenges of trying to convert a side scroller into this kind of game are apparent to me, however, since this is being developed by Team Meat, people can rest assured that this new title will provide some good quality values. There really isn’t many news about the game yet, aside from an Early 2026 release window. Not only will it be on PC, but it seems that it will also drop in a variety of platforms, but Xbox benefits from people not knowing that since they don’t have real exclusives.
Trying to adapt the difficult platforming and parkour aspects of Super Meat Boy to 3D will be a herculean task to achieve. If camera gets in the way, it can end up like many platformers of the early PS1 or N64 days that suffered from some severe angles and positioning. Maybe the game will be different than what we expect, but so far we really don’t know that much. Edmund is busy working in Mewgenics, his new title that truly emanates what he knows to do best in games, giving us surprises.
