Square Enix finally removes Denuvo from Final Fantasy 16

Square Enix finally removed Denuvo from the PC version of Final Fantasy 16. Square Enix is usually known for their sloppy PC ports, as they often do not take into consideration the advantages of the system. Japan always had a bad history with PC ports all around, and its often caused due to lack of expertise. Culturally, Japan considers computers to be solely used as work environments, while consoles are for games. Japan also has a history of PC gaming in the 80s and 90s, but unfortunately due to cultural circumstances, they don’t wish to recognize those great times. We at Infinite Start will cover this victory against Denuvo.

Finally Square does it

Denuvo is one of the worst software programs ever created. Tanking performance of games by trying to “protect” them from people getting them for free. More often than not, when Denuvo is implemented, sales on games decrease. It can also be used as a sign that they don’t particularly have much faith on the game selling in the first place. An ironic thing, because Denuvo does the opposite of giving you customers. Piracy is mainly a service issue, as Gabe Newell has stated before, however, many countries are unable to afford the outrageous prices.

To top it all, back in the day it was stated that digital releases would mean the price of games would get cheaper. That never happened and they lied to our faces, yet, people still keep buying digital despite there being no advantages over physical. Nowadays we are on an era of owning nothing, everything is basically a subscription service. With the PS5 Pro releasing with no disc drive, the intention is clear that physical is a thing of the past, and now you are forced to rent for tons of money.

The only way we can fix this, is to stop buying the stuff they put out. With the current quality of games, especially Final Fantasy 16, you aren’t missing on anything other than a Square blunder.
